SCA Spring 2025 Retreat

Retreat Date: The Spring 2025 Retreat will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, through Sunday, April 6, 2025.

The focus of this Retreat will be Steps 4, 5 and Letting Go of Shame.

The retreats are reasonably priced at $255 and are subsidized by SCA New York fundraisers. Please note the total cost of the retreat is approximately $270 per person. We deeply appreciate any additional donation you can contribute beyond the standard registration fee. Members who are experiencing financial hardship can apply for reduced registration supported by our chapter's generous donations.

Registration includes your own room and all meals.

A retreat creates a special period of time for connection, community, silence, rest, simplicity, and contemplation. It can be both a "time out" from life's daily stresses as well as an opportunity to deepen one's experience of self and our connection to our program. There is also playtime with your fellows; a time to just relax and have fun!

This is a closed event for members of SCA only. Advanced registration is required, and the retreat fills up quickly as there is limited space. Please join us and be part of the fun, connection, sharing of recovery, and serenity.

Retreat Information

COST AND ACCOMMODATIONS: The cost of the retreat is $255 (plus a small online transaction fee); a small number of reduced registration spots are available for people who are currently experiencing financial hardship.

We'll have three meals a day, snacks, tea, and coffee. There are vegetarian options at every meal. Please feel free to bring any special dietary items and snacks. A small refrigerator is available for our use.

Everyone has their own private room. Most have shared bathrooms (with private stalls for showers and toilets).

GETTING THERE ON FRIDAY, APRIL 4: You can provide your own transportation or ride up with a group from Grand Central Metro North (it's the New Haven stop on the New Haven line – round-trip cost is approximately $35).

Take the 3:03 Metro-North train from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven. From there a yellow school bus will take you to woodsy Ivoryton, CT (about 30 minutes beyond New Haven).

The retreat begins on Friday evening (April 4) at approximately 6 pm with dinner.

GETTING HOME ON SUNDAY, APRIL 6: The retreat ends on Sunday afternoon (April 6) with a Quaker-style gratitude meeting.

Our bus will return you to New Haven in time for the 4:40 pm Metro-North train back to Grand Central (arrives 6:35 pm).

REDUCED REGISTRATION IS LIMITED: Members who are experiencing financial hardship (a recent job loss, etc.) may request reduced registration of $195 (+ online transaction fee). Reduced registration will be granted based on the availability of funds and in the order in which requests are received. Please consider donating to the scholarship fund! As much as possible, the retreat committee attempts to offer reduced registration to those who request them. This discount is made possible thanks to the generous donations of SCA NY fellows.

IMPORTANT CANCELLATION POLICY: Full payment for the retreat is due March 21, 2025. If you must cancel (we hope you won’t!), you will get a full refund minus the online transaction fee (up to $10) if you notify us by March 21. After March 21, refunds are not possible unless we are able to sell your spot to someone on the waiting list.
